About Tom Goodkind

Tom Goodkind (1953 - 2019), was a Grammy-nominated musician, award-winning Community Board 1 member, affordable housing activist, CPA, CFO, club promoter, band leader, husband, father & Church Street School community member.

A longtime resident of Battery Park City, Tom worked tirelessly to tackle the issues facing his neighbors and friends, and better the lives of others. He was a persistent, passionate advocate for housing affordability, and booster of local public schools. In service of each cause he cared about, Mr. Goodkind became known both for dogged perseverance and impish wit.” - The Broadsheet

Tom was an integral part of the Church Street School community for 30 years. According to his wife Jill Goodkind, “Church Street School, to Tom, was a fundamental part of raising a family in Tribeca. The friendships he made in those early days, bringing his toddler to classes helped to grow his commitment to lower Manhattan. Tom gained a sense of community in the ever changing landscapes of Tribeca, and would go on to become a leader in that community”.
